Exploring the Creative Impulse
What We Make and Why We Make It
I have learned that one of the most important and difficult jobs of teaching is helping students connect with the reasons they make the work they do. In this presentation I will explore the very personal connection artists have with their artwork; what it is that we make and why we make it.  In addition to the work of other artists, I will show what has inspired my own artwork for the past 30 years.
